 The Wellness Reports
Monday, 05 April 2010

On March 22, the Wall Street Journal reported on acupuncture. The article gave a brief synopsis of the newest imaging procedures to identify areas of the brain in response to acupuncture. This is a good start in identifying all the reactions that acupuncture can ellicit, and brings the scientists closer to understanding the mechanisms at which the acupuncture needles work in changing the healing response. This should also be a good opportunity in identifying areas of the brain that control the body. Acupuncture stimulation areas each have specific problems that they treat. I believe that researchers will have a greater understanding in brain science, and areas of the body that the brain controls,  when they combine the latest imaging technology with acupuncture diagnostics.
